Eloise: 2.5 years

Oh my sweet little Eloisey, where do I even begin when it comes to putting it into words how amazing you are?  There are times that I am absolutely awestruck by what you say and do that I'm paralyzed.  It is hard to believe that you are 2.5 years old already.  Before we know it, you will officially be a big sister and seem even more mature than you do at this very moment.  Here a just a few words that capture the essence of your personality: creative, funny, dramatic, intelligent, resourceful, determined, loving, independent, musical, tender, observant and sweet.  How is it that one little person can be so many great things all at once?  Here are some highlights from living with this fabulous 2.5 year old.

Blue Eyes.
Eloise: "Mommy? You have blue eyes?"
Mommy: "Yes."
Eloise: "We're matching! Let me see your blue eyes."
When I'm wearing my glasses, she gets very concerned that blue eyes went away and asks to check on my eyes.

Coffee Talk.
Eloise was introduced to hot chocolate this Fall and was instantly hooked.  She calls it "coffee" though because it comes from the Keurig and that's where Daddy gets his coffee.  She knows which K-cups are his and which ones are hers.  A few weeks ago they went to Menards and came home with various flavors of K-cups.  She was pumped to get to pick some out.

Eloise the Foodie.
If it was up to Eloise her diet would consist of yogurt and fruit snacks.  She requests fruit snacks for the ride to school and immediately when she gets home from school.  Yogurt has always been a favorite from the get go.  She normally asks for it after finishing her lunch or dinner.  The most random thing that she likes is pickles.  She can easily put down 8-10 pickle chips given the opportunity.  Funny thing is that she always leave the skin as she eat them like they are an orange slice or something.

Frozen Obsession 2.0
Eloise has had a resurgence of her Frozen obsession.  All of the sudden, she knows all the songs and requests to watch You Tube videos and the movie multiple times a week.  Her Elsa nightgown is one of her favorites to wear to bed.  She refers to it as "my big Elsa."  Don't worry though, Eloise loves all the Disney princesses and loves to sing all their songs.  Some of our favorites are "A Dream is a Wish" by Cinderella and "Under the Sea" from The Little Mermaid.  This is LONG video of Eloise showing her vocal skills.

Accessories. Accessories. Accessories.
Heels do make a girl's legs look great, don't they?
Messy Hair. Don't Care.
All you really need in life is a tutu and fairy wings.

Bath time.
All we have to say to Eloise at night time is, "Eloise - What time is it?" and she promptly answers, "It's time for a lovely bath."  This stems from this little jingle on Disney Jr that she has picked up on.  Sometimes, she will sing it as we go upstairs.  There are times where she will tell us, "I don't want to take a lovely bath" or "it's not time for a lovely bath yet."
Holding court with the princesses.

Bed time rituals.
Eloise has always enjoyed reading stories before bedtime but lately she likes to read to us.  She has heard some of the stories so many times that it actually appears like she is reading the book because she knows it by heart.  There are a few essentials for bedtime - her ke-ke (aka blanket) and "my guys."  My guys are her CareBear & Night light ladybug.  After stories and getting tucked in, she requests "Sunshine" to be sung to her.  I've learned it's good to sing it twice to ensure a quick exit.

Just a few more of our favorite Eloise catch phrases:

"It's got mac & cheese on it." = It's dirty and Mommy needs to wash it.

"You go to the store?" = Mommy went somewhere & came back

"Chase me in the tunnel." = Chase me into the dining room with the lights off.

Every day when I pick her up from school, Eloise runs up to me and asks, "You're all done working?" It's so precious.

"Kiss together!" = Give me a kiss.
