Happy 9 months Preston

Happy 9 months Bubba Chubbas!
It's hard to believe that we are in the home stretch of your first year with just 3 months left until your 1st birthday.  You are an active little boy these days as you are crawling at lightning speed and pulling up and cruising on every surface.  I have a feeling that you will be walking well before your 1st birthday.  I still can't believe that you have 8 teeth.  Because of that, we are moving forward with trying more and more finger food.  Every meal is a battle between you wanting to feed yourself and me wanting to make sure you are actually getting some food into your belly as opposed to onto your lap.  Lots of Ba-Ba, Da-Da, Da!, Da?

After a few attempts to escape the baby bath, we finally decided to put you in the big tub.  Your little expression says it all.  You love it!
While your sleep at night has gone back to normal thanks to the break in the teething & ear ache dynamic duo and some tough love from Mama (aka crying it out), your weekend naps are another story.  For some reason, you REFUSE to nap in your crib on the weekends.  If you aren't being held, there is no nap going on.  It did make me feel better when you pulled the same thing at daycare with Ms. Tee too.  Here is the photo proof!

You are having a blast starting to eat big kid food at daycare.  It's so fun to hear that new things that try each day.
At the end of the day, this is where I find you.  Standing at the door of your classroom, watching the big doors to see if Mama is going to come thru next.  Every time I see you do this, I'm reminded of Eloise doing the same thing.
No matter how many toys we put in front of you, all you want is Eloise's ponies!  You are driving her crazy but it's fun to see you try to play with her.
Just when she thinks that she can have a moment of peace & quiet and watch some My Little Pony on the iPad...

8+ Months

Better late than never! Preston had his first golden birthday on January 8th when he turned 8 months. Lucky for him, he shared this "birthday" with Grandma Karen.
What is Preston up to?
Crawling
Pulling up
Cruising
Learning to feed himself
Trying out the sippy cup & drinking from a straw
Teething, teething & more teething
Many parents at daycare, including me, consider this a rite of passage when you baby starts pulling up & standing at the doorway.
Feeding himself Puffs & Mum-mums.
Did I mention that he's teething? Bubbas has cut 8 teeth since the beginning of December. Literally, all 4 on top have cut through at the same time in addition to the bottom 4. I've actually caught him try to chew on the brick fireplace!
A sweet note from his teacher Ms. Tee...
No matter how many toys we put in front of him, he always makes his way to Eloise & her ponies.
As of last week, Preston is no longer the baby on Brad's side of the family. Aunt AJ & Uncle Brian welcomed baby Brooke on January 14th.
Preston is a lucky boy to be surrounded by all these girls!
Everyday Preston seems to get more hair. It's coming in light brown & blonde right now. It's so weird to picture him with hair as opposed to his big beautiful bald head.

Our Christmas Highlights

Any holiday is better when you have kids to share it with but Christmas is the best!  Eloise really bought into the magic of Christmas this year.  It was such a delight to see how much she enjoyed everything leading up to the big day. We had so much introducing the Elf of the Shelf this year and look forward to lots of fun with Lyla Zig Za in the years to come!

In case you missed any of our fun with Lyla the Elf.  Click HERE.

Christmas Eve at Grandpa Carrot & Papa Kevin's House
Auntie Lo started a tradition of making a Gingerbread house with Eloise right after her 1st Christmas.  As you can see, there was more candy eating than candy decorating going on with Eloise.
As Eloise said on Christmas morning, "He came!"
Christmas Day with Grandma Sandy & Papa Mike
One of the Christmas traditions is a grab bag/white elephant gift exchange.  I picked up this Christmas photo prop set for one of my gifts and it was a hit!

We hope you had a wonderful Christmas & wish you a Happy New Year!!
